Quaker Oats Falafels With Hummus
Quaker Breakfast
½ cup roasted and powdered Quaker Oats*
½ cup chickpeas (kabuli chana)
2 tbsp green gram (whole mung dal)
2 tbsp sweet corn kernels
1 onion finely chopped
3-4 garlic cloves minced
4 tbsp finely chopped mint & coriander
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp chat masala
½ cup bread crumbs (grind 3 slices of whole wheat bread in a mixer)
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 pinch baking powder
few drops of oil for brushing
salt & chili to taste
Soak chickpeas & beans for 6-8 hours. Drain and grind coarsely with mint,
coriander & garlic.
Add all ingredients and shape into 8-10 flat patties (tikkis).
Brush with a drop of oil and grill / cook on a non-stick pan/tawa till crisp and golden.
*For powdered Quaker Oats, roast Quaker Oats for 2-3 mins.
Cool and grind in a mixer.
