Quaker Oats Nuggets Pulao

35g Quaker Oats Nuggets (Recipe given in this booklet)
70g rice
1 small (50g) onion
¼ tsp cumin seeds
1 black cardamom
1 clove
1 stick cinnamon
1 bay leaf
salt to taste
2 tsp oil
Wash and soak rice in water for half an hour.
Crush the nuggets lightly.
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan; add whole spices. Fry a little.
Add thinly sliced onion and fry till light brown in colour. Add nuggets and fry.
Drain rice and add to the onions. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes more.
Add double the amount of water and salt. Bring to boil.
Reduce heat and cook covered till rice is done.
Serve hot with curry or raita.
